Tommy Gatzionis was barely out of high school when he started thinking about how to earn money for college. When the Broadneck High School graduate was asked to be a disc jockey at his cousin’s graduation, the Annapolis resident found what he was looking for. He borrowed some money from his parents to create what is now Tommy Gatz Entertainment. Based in Rockville, Gatzionis now has six DJs and a crew of 30 working to provide music, photography, videography and custom options at events in the area. Much of the work is custom based, but weddings start at $1,200 and three hours for just music costs $600. This year, the company plans to do 150 events. The 21-year-old talked to The Capital about his business and how he manages it with his schedule at University of Maryland, College Park.
